The NFL fantasy football app had some issues on Thursday night during the 2024 season opener between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. The app developers acknowledged the errors and announced that the team was working on deploying a fix.

However, at the time of writing, Downdetector, a site that tracks outages based on users, suggests that the NFL fantasy football app is not detecting any problems.

Although most of the issues around the NFL fantasy football app appear to have been resolved, some fantasy managers were irked with the inconvenience on Thursday night.

Many complained about the log-in issues:

"The fantasy football site wouldn't let me log in until 8pm today. So excited to see that I autodrafted the Ravens' backup kicker," one posted on X.
"Stupid fantasy league ain’t letting me log in. Tf," posted another.
"My NFL Fantasy app won’t let me log in !!! i have Worthy i wanna see my points," a third wrote on X.
"Why does the NFL fantasy app suck so much? Can't log in on opening night," wrote another user.

Others pointed out the gameplay glitches in the NFL fantasy football app:

"Ummmm nfl fantasy app wtf," one user posted with a screenshot of the issue.

Per reports, the fantasy football app began spiking with outages at around 9 p.m. ET on Thursday. This was during the first quarter of the Chiefs vs. Ravens game.

The issues remained until halftime and some fantasy managers got a message saying the 'API rate limit' had been exceeded. API is short for application programming interface, which appeared since there were too many requests on the app in a short frame of time.

Many believe that the issue occurred because it was the start of the 2024 NFL season and fantasy managers from across the country wanted to log into the app.

Reports of the outages on Downdetector declined drastically from around 10:50 p.m. ET onward, this was around an hour before the Chiefs-Raves game drew to a close.

The Chiefs began their 2024 season with a 27-20 win over the Ravens in Week 1 at Arrowhead. However, the match had some drama in the final few seconds.

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a pass to Isaiah Likely, who caught what seemed to be an incredible game-tying touchdown grab at the final buzzer. However, after a review, it was announced that Likely's toe was ruled out of bounds, which resulted in the Chiefs getting the victory.
