The NFL revealed its 2024 regular season schedule four months ago, and many fans took note of the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Denver Broncos matchup in Week 2. Quarterback Russell Wilson was scheduled to face his former team in this game, just a few months after being abruptly cut from the team to end a difficult two-year stay in Denver.
However, Wilson might miss today's eagerly awaited matchup with his former team after he was also sidelined for the Steelers' Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons because of a calf issue.
We've outlined all we know regarding Wilson's likely availability status for Sunday's game below.

Is Russell Wilson playing today?
Russell Wilson is listed as questionable for the Pittsburgh Steelers' game against the Denver Broncos today. However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Saturday night that the quarterback is not expected to play.
Wilson initially had a calf injury during training camp, but it appeared that he aggravated it during practice just before the Steelers' season-opening game last week.
The former Seahawks quarterback didn't feature against the Falcons in Week 1, even though he was made the emergency QB3 for that game. He was also limited in practice throughout the week in preparation for Week 2.
Wilson's anticipated unavailability means that Justin Fields, who started at center for the Steelers last week, will probably make his second start of the campaign today. The quarterback performed well In Week 1, leading the Steelers to an 18-10 victory over the Falcons. In that game, he completed 17 of 23 throws for 153 yards.
Wilson remained hopeful during the week that he would eventually find himself in the starting lineup, but it now seems the Week 2 game has come too soon for him.
Following practice on Thursday, Wilson told reporters:
"I'm getting there. I also have to listen to the doctors and hear what they have to say and all that. At the end of the day, it's one of those decisions that's a team effort to figure out what's the best thing. I'm doing everything I can to go, that's for sure.”
