Tee Higgins' injury status was among the most puzzling storylines to follow this week. The wide receiver made an appearance on the Cincinnati Bengals injury report ahead of their season opener against the New England Patriots.
With Ja'Marr Chase also doubtful to suit up on Sunday, Joe Burrow could be without his top two weapons as he lines up under center at Paycor Stadium.

Is Tee Higgins injured?
Higgins was listed as 'doubtful' on the Bengals injury report over the weekend.
Higgins tweaked his hamstring in practice on Thursday. Head coach Zac Taylor didn't exactly paint a picture of confidence when asked if Higgins would be ready for the Patriots game, telling reporters that they will keep tabs on their WR2.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, however, Higgins said:
“I feel amazing, I’m ready to go."
Patriots vs Bengals injury report
New England Patriots injury report
The Patriots have several injury issues to deal with, chief among them being safety Jabril Peppers and linebacker Josh Uche. Peppers is currently dealing with a hip issue and is listed as questionable for the game whereas Uche is questionable with a foot issue.
Running back Antonio Gibson is also on the injury report with a hip problem.
Cincinnati Bengals injury report
The Bengals are relatively healthy but they do have two big names on the injury report: Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase.
Chase is looking for a contract extension, one that would ideally make him the league's highest-paid wide receiver over Justin Jefferson, who recently signed a $140 million extension.
Jefferson addressed Chase's contract negotiations, giving his colleague a piece of advice:
"I haven't really talked him to too much about it but, I'm pretty sure, or confident that he's going to be about his business and show up when he needs to show up. I mean, I hope he gets the deal and contract he's looking for. But I also hope that he plays it smart and not let it get in the way of his greatness and being on the field."
In any case, Chase was spotted in practice over the weekend. He is more likely to feature than Higgins. Meanwhile, rookie tackle Amarius Mims will miss the Bengals' seasn opener owing to a pectoral injury.
