Is Tyreek Hill playing tonight vs Vikings in Week 6?

New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins
New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins started the season strong with Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and others blowing up defenses and winning games. Since then, both Tagovailoa and his backup, Teddy Bridgewater, have been injured with concussions and are unavailable. With rookie Skylar Thompson expected to start, he needs all the help he can get. For a while, it looked like star receiver Tyreek Hill would be unavailable.

Last week, concerns emerged about Hill after he was seen wearing a protective boot on the sidelines. The injury report listed him as having a quad/foot injury. Thankfully for everyone in the organization, he was a full participant in practice throughout the week and is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings.

Tyreek Hill fantasy football implications

Tyreek Hill has literally not lost a step, even as he has exchanged Kansas City for Miami. He has been tearing up the league with 524 yards through five games. This includes games where he has not had the support of starting quarterbacks throwing to him due to injuries. He led the league in yardage before Tagovailoa got injured and is still third on the list (behind Justin Jefferson and Cooper Kupp). He should be an automatic starter not just for this game but for the foreseeable future.

Tyreek Hill's NFL timeline

Selected in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Tyreek Hill began his career as primarily a punt returner. He then moved on to become a premier wide receiver. Over the years with the Kansas City Chiefs, he won Super Bowl LIV in February 2020 and was named to six Pro Bowls.

Surprisingly, his lowest output over the past five seasons came during the Super Bowl winning campaign. That is because he only started 12 games in the regular season. Every other season from 2017 to 2021 has seen him gain more than 1,000 receiving yards every campaign. He was also recognized as the punt returner on the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. He is widely regarded as the fastest player in the NFL.

If he keeps up the pace he has set this season he is expected to cross 1,500 receiving yards. If that plays out, it would be his single best season for him. Barring any injuries, he should be an automatic selection for both the Miami Dolphins and any fantasy football team manager.
