Antonio Brown once apologized for violating NFL policy long before explicit Snapchat leaks

Before Antonio Brown made headlines with his various exploits on Snapchat, the former NFL wide receiver apologized for violating NFL policy. While with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown recorded the team in the locker room in what was supposed to be a private moment. Head coach Mike Tomlin and then-quarterback Ben Roethlisberger ripped into Brown for his actions.

In his apology, the wideout stated that he was wrong to film in the locker room and that he had violated league policy.

Brown said:

"I let my emotions and genuine excitement get the best of me, and I wanted to share that moment with our fans. It was wrong of me to do, against team and NFL policy, and I have apologized to Coach Tomlin and my teammates for my actions."

Antonio Brown live-streamed the Steelers' locker room following the team's victory in the AFC Divisional Round over the Kansas City Chiefs back in the 2016 season. The video was around 17 minutes long, and it featured Tomlin giving a profanity-laced speech. Tomlin was asked about the locker room video as the Steelers prepared to face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.

Tomlin said:

"It was foolish for him to do that, it was selfish for him to do that, it was inconsiderate for him to do that. Not only is it a violation of our policy, it's a violation of league policy, both of which he knows. There are consequences to be dealt with from his perspective. We will punish him, we won't punish us."

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that Tomlin informed players at a team meeting that Brown was fined $10,000 for breaching the team’s social media policy. While the former Steelers star was only fined for his actions, he later found himself in deeper trouble when it came to social media.

Antonio Brown and his exploits on Snapchat

The former four-time All-Pro has found himself in hot water on the social media platform Snapchat. Last November, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout posted a fake seminude photo of Gisele Bundchen, the ex-wife of former teammate Tom Brady, on Snapchat.

It caused quite an uproar, but Antonio Brown took it a step further when he shared a sexually explicit photo of himself with Chelsie Kyriss, the mother of his children. Antonio Brown claimed his Snapchat account was hacked, but the platform decided to suspend his account nonetheless. It's going to take more than an apology to fix the mess he's caused on Snapchat.
