Nonetheless, fantasy managers should wait until the Cowboys have a few training sessions this week before considering to play Ferguson.

Ferguson picked up a knee injury in the Cowboys' 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. While there was initial concern that the tight end could be sidelined for a lengthy spell, an MRI revealed relatively good news that he'd suffered a minor MCL sprain and some bone bruising.

Per reports, Ferguson was close to playing in the Week 2 game against the Saints before the team ruled him out of the contest. After the Cowboys' defeat, quarterback Dak Prescott rued Ferguson's absence.

“As I’ve said throughout the week, Jake’s more than just a tight end on Sunday,” Prescott said. “He’s an aggressor. He brings a physical nature to this group. He’s got a mentality that other guys feed off of, that’s very contagious.”

Ferguson made three of five catches for 15 yards in Dallas' season opener against Cleveland. He has tallied just 4.5 fantasy points this season, but that figure is expected to improve significantly once he returns to action.
