It's Week 13 and the injuries are piling up, as Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf will attest. Metcalf has been a concern all week, racking up DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday as the Seahawks sweat over the availability of their WR1.
With the NFC West still wide-open for any of the four teams to take charge of in the run-in, the Seahawks will hope Metcalf is fit in time as they get set to face the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.
Considering Metcalf's DNPs, fantasy owners will have to proceed with caution while considering inserting him into lineups this week.
DK Metcalf fantasy outlook for Week 13
The Seahawks picked up a crucial 16-6 win over their divisional rivals the Arizona Cardinals last week. While neither offense really got going, the Seahawks still managed to put 16 points on the board. In that game, Metcalf caught four passes for 59 yards which, given the state of the scoreboard, makes sense.
However, given the fact that fellow wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is beginning to look like the player Seattle was so high on a couple of years ago, Metcalf's floor in fantasy football has been lower than usual. Add that to the fact that Metcalf is nursing a nasty shoulder injury and his fantasy outlook for this week turns even bleaker.
Jakobi Meyers fantasy outlook for Week 13
The Raiders slipped to 2-9 after a 10-point loss to the Denver Broncos last week but whoever had Jakobi Meyers in their lineups will have been thankful.
The Raiders WR hauled in 10 of his 15 targets for 121 yards. Meyers leads the Raiders in targets, receptions and receiving yards and is clearly benefitting from Davante Adams jetting off to the New York Jets.
The only wrinkle in Meyers' fantasy outlook this week is that starting quarterback Gardner Minshew is out for the season after suffering a collarbone injury late in the loss to Denver. Aidan O'Connell will take over for Minshew but it remains to be seen how that affects Meyers' production.
If you zoom out a little, though, not much is likely to change given the state of this Raiders offense. Coach Antonio Pierce has crowned them the worst team in football but they will go up against the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday which is always a tough matchup considering how tight Kansas City's defense is.
Jakobi Meyers or DK Metcalf: Final verdict
Sportskeeda's Start/Sit tool gives Metcalf the edge this week. That is if he suits up. And that's a big if considering he has a shoulder injury.
In any case, if you have either Metcalf or Meyers on your roster, you may want to look elsewhere this week.
