Jalen Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro cornerback, has been traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter. In exchange, the Dolphins will receive tight end Hunter Long and a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

In 2023, Jalen Ramsey will receive a salary of $25.2 million. This includes a $17 million base salary and $8.2 million in signing bonuses. Only $5 million of his base salary is guaranteed this upcoming season. He currently has no guarantees on his contract in 2024 and 2025.

The Dolphins could restructure his contract to lower his $17 million cap hit. Jalen Ramsey is only entitled to $12.5 million in fully guaranteed salary this year. However, his contract comes with an $18.5 million cap hit in 2024, and $19.5 million cap hit in 2025. By lowering his salary, Ramsey could secure himself guaranteed money in 2024 and 2025.
