Jaxon Smith-Njigba NFL Draft: Top 3 teams that should target Ohio State’s star WR

NFL Combine
Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be a first-round pick

Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be a rich man a month from now. The 2023 NFL Draft is in a few weeks, and teams that want a wide receiver won't find players of Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase's caliber, but they're still going to find difference-makers to improve their passing offense, and the Ohio State product is one of them.

Smith-Njigba is considered by many analysts to be the greatest receiver prospect in this class, and there's no doubt that he's going to be taken in the first round.

Check out the three teams that should jump at the opportunity to take him in the 2023 NFL Draft:

3 best landing spots for Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the 2023 NFL Draft:

#1 - Los Angeles Chargers

Getting a third receiver who can produce constantly has to be at the top of the Chargers' needs for the draft, and the Ohio State kid might be the perfect guy. He's a very good weapon when lined up on the inside and could master routes that cut to the inside with Allen and Williams taking more volume on the outside.

Williams and Allen are two men who suffer injuries constantly. Adding Smith-Njigba would give Los Angeles a great backup in his first season as he gets reps in the slot.

#2 - Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs just won the Super Bowl, but they also lost JuJu Smith-Schuster to the market as he had signed only a one-year deal.

While Tyreek Hill's production is impossible to match, pairing Marquez Valdes-Scantling with Smith-Njigba would give Kansas City the perfect blend of speed and crafty route running to play alongside star tight end Travis Kelce.

It would also give the best combination of wide receivers with two names in the entire league.

#3 - Houston Texans

Trading Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys opened a huge hole in the Texans' wide receiver room, and the Ohio State receiver could be the perfect replacement here. Houston will take the quarterback with the second overall pick, and giving him a young weapon to accelerate his development would be a great move.

It would also see his spot as the number one receiver grow quickly, as the Texans do not have many interesting options in the position. He would fit like a glove.
