Kenneth Walker III injury update: What happened to Seahawks RB?
According to Pro Football Network, Kenneth Walker left his team's Week 1 game due to an abdominal issue. Walker dismissed the injury after the game, indicating that he's good to go.
However, he might have been way off in his injury assessment. The Michigan State standout suffered an oblique injury and has not practiced all week.
It's rare to see a player get consecutive DNPs in practice and still suit up for a weekend game in the NFL. Thus, it's highly unlikely that Walker will play against the New England Patriots in Week 2.
Fantasy football managers should swap Walker for a backup offensive player for Week 2. He's leaning towards not playing, and even if he does, it's unlikely that he'll be uber-efficient versus the Patriots.
The Seattle Seahawks have three other players who did not participate in Thursday's training session -- offensive tackle George Fant, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and tight end Pharaoh Brown. These players have one more session to prove their fitness ahead of the New England Patriots game.
The Seahawks will look to continue their winning start to the season and hand Jerod Mayo's Patriots their first loss of the year.
Kenneth Walker is part of a running back committee
Kenneth Walker and 2023 NFL draft pick Zach Charbonnet are one of the most exciting running back duos in the NFL. Ahead of the season, Walker figured to get more touches for the year.
However, with Walker's injury, expect Charbonnet to get a decent amount of carries in the next game.
