The Baltimore Ravens decided to part ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Roman agreed it was time to move on after three playoff appearances in four years and six seasons together. The offensive playcalling was a point of contention all year long for many Ravens fans.

Their playoff loss was influenced mainly by a curious play call to send Tyler Huntley leaping over the top from the two-yard line. Huntley fumbled, leading to a 98-yard touchdown return that gave the Cincinnati Bengals the only lead they needed.

A decision like this doesn't come from just one poor play call, even one that might have cost them a playoff victory. Nevertheless, many fans are happy he's moving on.

They're especially happy for quarterback Lamar Jackson, though there's no telling where he might end up as he is a free agent now.

This news has pleased the majority of Ravens fans. However, if the franchise can not reach an agreement with Jackson, it could all be for naught. Even with a new offensive coordinator, no starting quarterback would make things difficult.

Will the Baltimore Ravens be able to sign Lamar Jackson?

One of the biggest sagas in the previous NFL offseason was whether or not the Baltimore Ravens would extend Lamar Jackson. They could not reach an agreement before the season and tabled the talks.

Following the 24-17 playoff defeat, in which Jackson could not play due to injury, the talks can now resume unofficially.

It's going to be a big domino for the entire off-season. If Jackson leaves the Ravens, teams will line up to sign him. That changes things for every other quarterback and a lot of other aspects of the offseason, too.

However, it remains more likely that he will stay. The Ravens know what he means to them. They were unable to generate much offensive threat without him.

They can add weapons around him and make an elite offense, but it won't matter without Jackson.

Jackson also wants to stay. He wants to be paid what he's worth, but he wants that to happen in Baltimore. The two sides will likely come to an agreement eventually.
