The Indianapolis Colts are one of the few teams that still needs to figure out who their franchise quarterback will be for the 2023-2024 season.

They will likely draft a quarterback with a No. 4 pick or trade back or up in the draft. Another option the team has is acquiring Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Former Colts punter Pat McAfee spoke on his show and hinted that the team might be making a move for Jackson. He thinks new head coach Shane Steichen will excel with Jackson.

McAfee said:

“With Steichen what he just did with Jalen Hurts in that offense. Not saying that Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson are the same people but you talked about a skill set being absolutely taken advantage of Lamar in that offense would be perfect… you literally just drop right in.
"With Jonathan Taylor behind you, you drop right into a situation in which you're competitive, at least in the AFC in what you might not be sitting in for when allegedly, there's only three quarterbacks.”

Indianapolis moved on from Matt Ryan as he was released by the team this off-season.

In the midst of the off-season, Lamar Jackson announced on Twitter this morning that he has officially requested a trade from the team on March 2. He said that the team is not interested in matching his value.

"In regards to my future plans. As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value, any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team."

Jackson and the Ravens have been far off on a long-term deal since last summer.

Towards the end of August, the team offered him a deal worth more than Kyler Murray's to which he declined. The two teams closed talks once the 2022 season began and picked them back up this off-season.

After failing to reach a long-term deal, the Ravens placed a non-exclusive tag on Jackson, which certainly didn't make him any happier.

Do you think Jackson will be traded or will work out a deal with the Ravens?
