Gesicki is one of nine Bengals that appear on the injury report ahead of Week 3. The Penn State product is joined by superstar quarterback Joe Burrow, safety Vonn Bell, wide receiver Tee Higgins, fellow tight end Tanner Hudson, offensive tackle Amarius Mims and defensive tackles B.J. Hill, Kris Jenkins and Sheldon Rankins.
Hill, Hudson and Rankins did not practice on Thursday, while the rest of the players on the list were either full or limited participants. The Bengals will need all the help they can get as they're out to end an unwanted losing start to the 2024/25 NFL season.
How has Mike Gesicki performed in 2024?
Mike Gesicki has played his role admirably in the first two weeks of the 2024 NFL season. Gesicki hauled in three receptions for 18 yards in Week 1 and seven receptions for 91 yards in Week 2.
His performance against the Kansas City Chiefs was thoroughly impressive. He used his experience to cause matchup nightmares for the Chiefs. The Bengals narrowly lost the game, but their performance should keep their supporters optimistic for the time being.
Gesicki fantasy football managers will be hoping that the veteran tight end is fit enough to play against the Minnesota Vikings. He's currently the Bengals' second-option pass catcher behind Ja'Marr Chase, pending when Tee Higgins returns from injury.
