Aaron Rodgers finally got a chance to play more than four snaps at home as the New York Jets took on the New England Patriots. Both teams came into the game with a 1-1 record. But the mood for each franchise was palpably different. The Jets believe that they can reach the playoffs this year and last week's win against the Tennessee Titans gave them the confidence to aim for it. Meanwhile, the Patriots came crashing back down to earth after their first-week upset against the Cincinnati Bengals. Here is how the action went down.Patriots vs. Jets box scores Quarter1234TotalPatriots03003Jets777324Patriots Box ScorePassing PlayerC/ATTYDSAVGTDINTRTGJacoby Brissett#7 "12/18"985.40080.3Drake Maye#10 "4/8"222.80056.2Team16/26614.60072.6 Rushing PlayerCARYDSAVGTDLONGAntonio Gibson#4 5295.808Rhamondre Stevenson#38 6233.8013Drake Maye#10 2126011DeMario Douglas#3 19909JaMycal Hasty#39 15505Team15785.2013 Receiving PlayersRECYDSAVGTDLONGTGTSDeMario Douglas#3 7699.90229Austin Hooper#81 119190194Ja'Lynn Polk#1 2136.5072Hunter Henry#85 294.5093Antonio Gibson#4 382.7073Kayshon Boutte#9 122022Tyquan Thornton#11 000001Team161207.502224 Defense PlayerTOTSOLOSACKSTFLPDQB HTSTDRaekwon McMillan#50 10600000Jahlani Tavai#48 10601000Jonathan Jones#31 7500100Keion White#99 6500020Anfernee Jennings#33 6402000Joshua Uche#55 5411010Davon Godchaux#92 5300000Daniel Ekuale#95 4200000Jabrill Peppers#5 4200000Marcus Jones#25 3300000Kyle Dugger#23 3300000Christian Gonzalez#0 3300000Jaylinn Hawkins#21 3200000Deatrich Wise Jr.#91 3111010Joe Giles-Harris#44 2100000Jeremiah Pharms Jr.#98 2100000Joe Cardona#49 1100000Brenden Schooler#41 1100000Eric Johnson II#96 1000000Marcellas Dial Jr.#27 1000000Team805325140 Kicking PlayerFGPCTLONGXPPTSJoey Slye#13 "1/1"100440/03Team"1/1"100440/03 Jets Box ScorePassing PlayerC/ATTYDSAVGTDINTRTGAaron Rodgers#8 27/35281820118.9Team27/35281820118.9Rushing PlayerCARYDSAVGTDLONGBraelon Allen#0 11555011Breece Hall#20 16543.4110Aaron Rodgers#8 3186011Isaiah Davis#32 36204Team331334111 Receiving PlayerRECYDSAVGTDLONGTGTSTyler Conklin#83 59318.60226Allen Lazard#10 348161273Mike Williams#18 33411.30184Garrett Wilson#5 5336.6199Breece Hall#20 4297.30145Xavier Gipson#82 21680112Jeremy Ruckert#89 2157.50112Braelon Allen#0 3134.3073Team2728110.422734 Defense PlayerTOTSOLOSACKSTFLPDQB HTSTDQuincy Williams#56 8501000Chuck Clark#36 7411010Jamien Sherwood#44 5400000Sauce Gardner#1 4400000Will McDonald IV#99 3121040Tony Adams#22 3100100Quinnen Williams#95 2211030D.J. The quarterback was exceptional as he led the offense to a score in each of the four quarters. In the first quarter, he threw a touchdown pass to Allen Lazard to take them to a 7-0 lead. The defense, meanwhile, did its job to keep the Patriots scoreless. The second quarter was similar to the first as Aaron Rodgers led another touchdown drive for Breece Hall to convert on a short running play. At least New England scored a field goal to keep the score 14-3 at halftime. It could have been worse for the Patriots towards the end of the half as the Jets quarterback led a drive to bring his team into field goal range. But kicker Greg Zuerlein missed to keep New York's lead at 11.Things did not get any better for Jerod Mayo in the second half as Rodgers continued to play well and found Garrett Wilson for a touchdown in the third quarter. That put them up ahead by 21-3.With the game nearly won, the fourth quarter saw the Jets run the ball more and play safe. As the Patriots failed in every way to get going on offense, this strategy turned out to be risk-free. Eventually, New York got another field goal attempt, which they converted to make the final score 24-3.This game also saw the pro football debut of rookie first-rounder Drake Maye, but he struggled behind an offensive line that had previously failed to protect veteran Jacoby Brissett. For the other seasoned quarterback on the opposing team, it was as good a night as he has ever had in a Jets jersey.
