The New Orleans Saints (2-6) have had a difficult 2024 season and haven't won a game since Week 2. Let's take a look at the injury report ahead of their Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers.
New Orleans Saints injury report
Here's a look at the Saints injury report ahead of their crunch Week 9 showdown versus the Panthers:
Derek Carr's injury update
According to CBS Sports, New Orleans Saints star quarterback Derek Carr was a limited practice participant in Thursday's training session. The perennial Pro Bowler is dealing with an oblique injury, which has kept him out of action since Week 5.
Carr suffered the injury in a loss to the two-time reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. He has since missed three straight games and only recently returned to practice. Friday's training session will be crucial in determining whether Carr will return to the Gridiron in Week 9.
Alvin Kamara's injury update
According to Pro Football Network, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara participated only limitedly in the first two practice sessions before Week 9. The RB1 is dealing with hand and rib injuries.
The versatile RB recently told reporters that he's running with a broken hand. However, barring any unforeseen scenarios, it's likely that he'll feature against the Panthers.
Bub Means' injury update
According to CBS Sports, Bub Means did not practice on Thursday. The wide receiver is dealing with an ankle injury.
Means has a high ankle sprain, and his timeline for recovery is undisclosed. Hence, it's unlikely that the pass catcher will play against the Panthers in Week 9.
Marshon Lattimore's injury update
According to CBS Sports, Marshon Lattimore missed consecutive training sessions at the start of the week. The star cornerback is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Lattimore reinjured his hamstring against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. He ended the game with a stat line of two tackles while playing in 41 defensive snaps. He's now in a race against time to prove his fitness for Week 9.
