The New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers met on Sunday Night Football in a clash of third-placers from last season, with each team debuting a new player.
Davante Adams made his debut in Gang Green, less than a week after being traded from the Las Vegas Raiders and reuniting with his old Green Bay ally, Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, Russell Wilson donned the black-and-gold for the first time, replacing Justin Fields.

Jets vs. Steelers SNF Game Summary
The Steelers began the scoring with a 46-yard field goal by Chris Boswell. After that, the Jets would not score until almost ten minutes later. But when they did, it was in spectacular fashion, as Breece Hall sped through the left corner for a touchdown.
In the second quarter, Boswell scored another field goal, this time from 29 yards. But the Jets upstaged them again with another touchdown, this time an Aaron Rodgers pass to Tyler Conklin:
The initial extra-point attempt was blocked, but Minkah Fitzpatrick was called for leaping. The Jets switched from a one-point kick to a 1-yard two-pointer, which Garrett Wilson successfully caught.
With a minute and fifteen seconds left, the Steelers caught their first big break of the game when rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr. intercepted Rodgers. The ensuing drive turned into a George Pickens touchdown:
To begin the second half, the Steelers finally seized the lead when Chris Boswell connected on a 21-yard field goal. Then they solidified their lead when Beanie Bishop intercepted Aaron Rodgers again, with Davante Adams barely managing to prevent a touchdown, which Russell Wilson scored with a “tush push” on the next play. The Jets attempted to respond, but Greg Zuerlein’s field goal attempt was blocked.
The Steelers tacked on another touchdown in the fourth quarter, via a Van Jefferson catch. The Jets then attempted to respond but committed a turnover on downs. No other scoring plays happened until the final thirty seconds of the game, when Najee Harris rushed for a touchdown.
