There is another veteran player in New Orleans who might be ending the near of his career, shedding some light on the subject in a recent appearance on the Up and Adams Show.

Cam Jordan, the 14-year defensive end with the New Orleans Saints, has made it clear that he still has several years left to give before he hangs up his cleats.

Having already spent 14 years in the league, Kay Adams asked Jordan if he would consider retirement after his 15th year, since it's a 'nice number.'

"In my mind, I got three great years left," Jordan replied.

Jordan, who is currently 35, has one year left on his Saints contract. He has been with the team since he was selected with 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of California. He has three All-Pro selections to go with eight Pro Bowl appearances.

Jordan had previously expressed his desire to continue playing until at least his 15th season. Now, it appears the veteran defensive end wants to play well into his late 30s.

Jordan's role under former head coach Dennis Allen had begun to decline at the start of the 2024 season. Notably, when Darren Rizzi was elevated to interim head coach after coaching changes, the veteran saw a notable increase in snaps.

Although we don't know how much Cam Jordan has left to give, it appears the Saints might be able to get something out of him for another season or two.

Derek Carr has revealed the real reason he retired from the NFL

Derek Carr has admitted in a discussion with Front Office Sports that he simply didn't feel at ease choosing between either undergoing surgery or trying to play through his injury, even though both options were explored. He was happy to walk away from a hefty payout and finish his playing career instead.

"That part was tough because I didn’t want to have surgery and just sit there, and – it sounds crazy but –just take the Saints' money. I wouldn’t have been able to play if I had the surgery," Carr said. "And then if I tried to play with it, I wasn’t near 100 percent, and so that doesn’t help them, either. I just felt like it was the right thing to do for myself and for the team."

Carr forfeited the $30 million salary he was scheduled to receive in 2025 with two seasons left on the $150 million, four-year contract he signed with the Saints in 2023.
