49ers star claims that Eagles' defense will be exposed by Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII

NFC Championship - San Francisco 49ers v Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles will face the Chiefs in Super Bowl next week

The stage is set for Super Bowl LVII, set to take place next week, as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will be playing for the Lombardi Trophy. Both teams won their respective conferences as the Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Bengals and the Eagles got the better of the San Francisco 49ers.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk spoke to Brad Graham, a reporter for TheSFNiners, about the matchup and gave his pick on who he thinks will win the big game.

Aiyuk thinks that Kansas City will expose the Eagles' defense and come out as the winners.

"I got the Chiefs [to win]. I think the Chiefs [will win]. I just think they have their hands full. I don't know fully about that defense [Eagles], they talk about them being a good defense. I'm not too sure, I'm not sure. I think the pass game, the Kansas City pass game will expose what we thought we were going to be able to expose before some unfortunate circumstances happened, so we'll see."

Aiyuk does have a valid point about 49ers having some misfortune. Philly had won the conference championship game against the 49ers by a score of 31-7.

While the Eagles won with ease a week ago over the 49ers, part of it was due to the unfortunate circumstances the 49ers suffered, as Aiyuk alluded to.

Starting quarterback Brock Purdy suffered an injury to his right elbow in the first quarter of the game and was sidelined as a result. Backup quarterback Josh Johnson came in and suffered a concussion in the third quarter. This caused Purdy to return, although he only threw the ball twice as the team was trailing.

Purdy was diagnosed with a tear in his UCL, which is why he couldn't throw the ball more than 10 yards.

Not only were the 49ers unlucky in that game, but they were so for the entire season. They went through four quarterbacks this season and all of them got hurt.

Second-year QB Trey Lance suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 2. Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a Lisfranc injury in Week 13. Lastly, Purdy tore his UCL and Johnson had a concussion.

With all their injuries, it's a big question mark as to who will start next season as their quarterback.
