Aaron Rodgers isn't a fan of the media, there's no secret to that. At almost any opportunity he gets, Rodgers takes shots at the media. He did that again on Tuesday.
During Rodgers' weekly appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show," the host brought up the story of former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Mularkey giving a false scoop to NFL journalist Ian Rapoport.
This prompted Rodgers to talk about "journalism integrity" and speak on how, as per him, there isn't much of that anymore.
"There's not a lot of journalistic integrity anymore," Rodgers said. "Some of the stuff that I've read, I would say the majority is limited in its truth and questionable in its content.
"Meaning, I don't understand why some of the articles were written last year, because it seemed like they were really trying to ruin people's lives. That being said, I don't understand why people would talk to some of these people, like, maybe it's just me in my world."
Rodgers continued:
"I don't know anybody in my world that goes online and trolls people's social media like they're in the comments all the time. I don't have nobody that I have a relationship with (who) does that.
"I don't believe that it's in my inner circle they would spend any time talking to reporter about other people's sh*t or trying to slam them or protect themselves. But unfortunately, this business has turned into a lot of cover your a*s, you know."
Aaron Rodgers partially wanted New York Jets to ignore media
Aaron Rodgers' disinclination towards the media was visible when he answered a question about his team's poor performances last month.
When asked how the New York Jets can attempt to fix things after their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, falling to a 2-5 start, Rodgers took a jab at the media instead.
“Stop listening to you guys, number one."
Of course, the media isn't responsible for their 3-8 start. It's a combination of many things, including Rodgers not living up to expectations.
There's a chance Rodgers isn't a Jet next season. He was asked earlier this month if he plans on being back next season and he answered, "Probably."
The Jets will be an interesting team to follow this offseason.
