“Aaron Rodgers doesn’t respect us”- When DeShon Elliot fired shots at Packers QB ahead of high-stakes matchup

Aaron Rodgers, in his latest appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, admitted that he wants to play for the New York Jets, indicating that it's just a matter of days before the deal gets completed. Due to this, the AFC East will be a lot more interesting next season.

However, Rodgers will face a familiar foe next season, as the Miami Dolphins signed former Detroit Lions cornerback DeShon Elliot. The 25-year-old CB had already called out the Green Bay Packers quarterback earlier in his career and was in the news for that.

While the Green Bay Packers needed a win in Week 18 to qualify for the playoffs last season, the Detroit Lions defeated them and ended Rodgers' career as a Packer. Here's what DeShon Elliot said about Rodgers and the Packers ahead of the game:

"Aaron Rodgers doesn’t respect us, that team doesn’t respect us." Elliot said, "We shouldn’t be an underdog, no matter what the record says. Going out there, I think we’re going to fight our ass off, play smashmouth football, just ‘cause of the respect factor."

He added:

"Like, we all got here someway, somehow. Yeah, he’s a Hall-of-Famer, but I just don’t respect the way he’s been talking about my guys all year, and the way that team views us. So we’re going to go out there and prove something.”

The Green Bay Packers played quite poorly last season, which resulted in them missing the playoffs. The Detroit Lions, on the other hand, also missed the playoffs but they exceeded all expectations.

With Elliot back in the same division as Aaron Rodgers, it will be intriguing to see who dominates their next meeting.

Aaron Rodgers will hope to get the better of DeShon Elliot next season

DeShon Elliot and the Detroit Lions won both games against Rodgers and the Packers last season. However, in the upcoming season, the four-time NFL MVP will hope to get even with the new Miami Dolphins cornerback.

Rodgers is expected to be traded to the New York Jets in the coming days, which will give enough time for the veteran quarterback to become familiar with his new team.

The Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets will fight for a playoff spot next season, and everyone will be keeping their eyes on Rodgers. The Jets already had a great roster, and now with a quarterback like Rodgers, their ceiling is Super Bowl.
