Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf are set to team up to try to take the Pittsburgh Steelers back to the Super Bowl. The AFC North franchise hasn't won a playoff game in nine years, and it's been 17 years since they lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Mike Tomlin wants his new star duo to learn from each other and build chemistry as soon as possible. He made Rodgers and Metcalf share a bathroom for the next month, which has led to curious situations between the veterans.
Talking with Yahoo Sports on Thursday, Metcalf said Aaron Rodgers noticed the toilet is louder than necessary and asked the wide receiver to not flush it after certain hours.

“The toilet is super loud,” Metcalf said. “So he was like, ‘Yeah, at night, if we got to piss, just don’t flush the toilet.’ I was like, ‘All right, bet.’”

While he agreed to it, DK Metcalf realized it was hard to keep his word. One time, after 9:30 p.m., he checked with Rodgers to see if he was still up.
“All right, bet,” Metcalf texted back, “I’m about to flush the toilet.”
Communication is key between a quarterback and his receivers and Metcalf used that in his favor.
Aaron Rodgers shortlists Steelers as Super Bowl candidates
After another tumultuous season in 2024, the Pittsburgh Steelers parted ways with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields and reunited with Mason Rudolph and added Aaron Rodgers as their new QB1. In the middle of that, they traded for DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks and for Jalen Ramsey from the Miami Dolphins.
All these win-now moves haven't changed the Steelers' odds to win it all, but Rodgers is confident his team can contend.
“Most of the 32 teams would probably say something to that accord at this time of the year, but I think there’s really only six to eight that have a legitimate chance,” Rodgers said. “Sometimes it’s 10 to 12, and there’s teams that surprise you.
“I would say on paper, we’re probably one of those 10 to 12.”
The Steelers have never recorded a losing season under Mike Tomlin, but their lack of playoff success has rubbed fans the wrong way. Rodgers signed for one year, which will be his final in the NFL.
After another wild-card elimination in 2024, Pittsburgh is all-in to end their Super Bowl drought next February.
