"Complete horses**t" - Aaron Rodgers goes after NFL reporter over article criticizing his hand signals

Aaron Rodgers rarely stays silent when it comes to opinions about him. This time, senior writer Kalyn Kahler of The Athletic commented on the Green Bay Packers star and his usage of hand signals.

Needless to say, it didn't go over too well with the four-time MVP. In his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers addressed the article written by Kahler with a colorful response.

"It is by far the dumbest, nothingburger article that I've read in the entire season. 95 percent of the article is complete horses**t... The way we do it now is Jordan [Love] makes up a list of the signals that we're going to have that week that are possible. I used to do this when I was the backup as well."

Rodgers added:

"He calls like three or four guys up there to go through them. It might be nerve-wracking the first time you do it, but every signal that is used in the game is probably used in practice that week. It's not hard at all. The fact that this is made to be a story, it's the most ridiculous nothing story that I've read the entire year."

In Kahler's piece, she wrote of Rodgers and his in-depth hand usage and how often he uses them in a game.

"Aaron Rodgers expects his offense to know somewhere around 30 hand signals. Every Sat, players are tested on them, but the tricky part is the signals aren't officially taught, there's no real record of them, and Rodgers often revives signals from years before."

No matter how often the 39-year-old signal-caller has used hand signals, it has helped the Packers win three of their last five games. The team now has an outside chance of making the playoffs for the fourth straight season with a record of 6-8.

Aaron Rodgers and the backstory behind the hand signals

When it comes to the hand signals used by Aaron Rodgers, they aren’t recorded anywhere. Rodgers' backup quarterback, Jordan Love, said the signals are ingrained in the brains of the players.

“The signals are not written down anywhere. They are not searchable on the team-issued iPads and there’s no handy film cut-up to watch them all in one go."

The offense this season for the Packers has struggled a bit as they're 20th in the league in points per game with 20.5. However, Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have put up at least 300 yards of total offense in three straight games.

In their Week 15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, they put up 345 yards on offense. Let's see if Aaron Rodgers' hand signalling can lead them to another victory in Week 16.
