Aaron Rodgers will be going on another "trip" soon, and it sounds like quite an interesting one. The Packers quarterback spoke with Pat McAfee on his show on Tuesday about going on a darkness retreat to help him make a decision on his future in the NFL.

He told McAfee that he plans on being in complete darkness, alone, so he can get a better understanding of what he wants to do.

"There's a two way, like a little slot that they'll drop in some food for you, but it's isolation and darkness," Rodgers said. "No, you know, no music, no nothing. You're in there for four nights. And then you come out on the on the last day after the fourth night. Sensory deprivation isolation."

Rodgers hinted at taking psychedelics, including DMT, as he talked about hallucinating during this trip he intends on taking.

"It's not like you bring a journal or you bring, you know, music or anything," Rodgers said. "There's no sounds. It's just, you know, sitting in isolation, meditation, being with your thoughts. It stimulates DMT, so there can be some hallucinations in there. But it's just kind of sitting in silence which, you know, most of us never do.
"You know, we've rarely even turned our phones off or, you know, put the blinds down to sleep in darkness. So, I'm really looking forward to it."

If Rodgers were to take DMT or any form of psychedelics, it won't be the first time he's experimented with these kinds of drugs, according to him.

In August 2020, Rodgers said that he had traveled to South America to take ayahuasca. He said that it helped him love himself and others unconditionally.

Rodgers said:

“To me, one of the core tenets of your mental health is that self-love. That’s what ayahuasca did for me, was help me see how to unconditionally love myself. It’s only in that unconditional self-love that then I’m able to truly be able to unconditionally love others. And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like that?”

While Rodgers openly discussed taking the drug, he didn't face any punishment from the NFL because he didn't test positive for any banned substances.

It sounds like Rodgers will be going on another "trip" soon when he does his self-isolation to reflect on what he is going to do in the NFL in the future.
