Aaron Rodgers Interception: Packers QB wildly overthrows Allen Lazard which leads to embarrassing pick

Aaron Rodgers' nightmare continues. With the Green Bay Packers sitting at 5-8 with slim playoff chances, this has been one of the worst seasons of the star quarterback's career.

Entering Week 15's Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams, Rodgers had thrown nine interceptions in the 2022 season, his highest total in 12 years. He increased that number once again with a wild overthrow to wide receiver Allen Lazard that resulted in an interception by Rams' safety Taylor Rapp.

Rodgers and the Packers are a shadow of their former selves, and they need a miracle to qualify for the postseason. The game against the Rams put together preseason contenders that did not live up to expectations throughout the 2022 season.

Aaron Rodgers' sharp decline in 2022

The word disappointing cannot truly encapsulate Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers' 2022 campaign. Widely viewed as a Super Bowl contender before the start of the season, the team failed to replace wide receiver Davante Adams adequately, and the offense crumbled.

But it's not only Adams that has been missed. Aaron Rodgers' consistency has completely vanished in 2022. He has already thrown more interceptions this season than the last two years combined, and not only that, but he also seems a lot more inaccurate, missing completions that would be easy for him in previous years.

It remains to be seen what the Packers will do with Rodgers in the upcoming years. The team also has former first-round pick Jordan Love under contract, and even if Rodgers decides to return for 2023 and beyond, perhaps it would be interesting for Green Bay to discover what they have in Love as well. They could at least improve his trade value for the offseason if he does not translate into a franchise quarterback.
