Aaron Rodgers has been linked with a move away from the Green Bay Packers this season. The legendary quarterback has no shortage of suitors, with several teams reportedly interested in signing him.

However, it appears that the Las Vegas Raiders have no intention of making a move for Rodgers this offseason.

Make no mistake, the Raiders are still looking for a quarterback after releasing nine-year veteran Derek Carr. However, the organization plans on bringing in a signal-caller who will stay with the team for a long time.

Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels explained that the team is still assessing its options for a new quarterback.

“The goal for us eventually is to have somebody that’s going to be here for a long time," McDaniels explained. "I think you see the teams that are having success right now in our league, in our conference, and specifically in our division, they’re young players that were drafted by their clubs and they’re being developed there under the same continuity."

Even Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler insisted that the team is bound to put their trust in a young quarterback. In an interview with The Athletic, he said:

“When you’re looking at the desire to win now in a future quarterback, it’s interesting because we’ve seen it go both ways in terms of you draft a young guy and they sit, right?”

With Aaron Rodgers already in the twilight years of his career, it doesn't seem that the Raiders will turn their attention towards the 39-year-old. Interestingly, the 10-time Pro Bowler still has two years remaining on the blockbuster deal that he signed with the Packers in 2022.

How did Aaron Rodgers fare in the 2022 season?

Aaron Rodgers had a rather underwhelming season with the Green Bay Packers in 2022. The quarterback threw for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

He led the Packers to a third-place finish in the NFC North with an 8-9 record. However, the franchise failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in four seasons.
