Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been quite disappointing this season, a consensus that's gaining more than enough traction week after week.
Following the loss to the New York Jets in Week 6, the Packers are now 3-3 to start the season and are struggling on the offensive end.
The loss of Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders appears to be hurting the Packers, but the bigger issue has been the performance of Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers' showings have been very un-Rodgers-like this year. Former Bucs star LeSean McCoy, however, put it a little more aggressively.
Here's what McCoy had to say about Rodgers following the loss to the Jets:
"First of all we're not going to give Aaron Rodgers, no more uh pleads, no more, you know, more excuses, passes. He looked bad, he didn't get the ball out well. I don't keep blaming these wide receivers right because they're not, they're young, but a lot is him too."
"I was thinking when Davante Adams left. I was like, dang, he's really gonna miss Aaron Rodgers as we get all the way around. Because now you don't have that assurance. I could throw a little back sort of pass. I know he's gonna catch it."
LeSean McCoy added that Rodgers deserves a lot of the blame, considering he's the franchise star in Green Bay.
"He's worried about getting attacked. He's worried about getting hit."
The Packers' young wide receivers don't appear to have jelled well with Rodgers just yet, which has been a contributing factor to their struggles.
Rodgers' level has also dropped as compared to last season, following back-to-back MVP campaigns.
How can Aaron Rodgers and the Packers get back on track?
The Green Bay Packers desperately need a veteran face on offense.
According to multiple reports, they have shown some interest in getting Odell Beckham Jr. on board, but that could prove to be a tough ask.
Getting OBJ to Green Bay won't be easy for the Packers, but he is the type of player that would fit perfectly with Rodgers and bring the spark that's been missing from their offense.
Whether or not Odell Beckham Jr. signs with the Packers remains to be seen, but as presently constructed, the addition of a veteran receiver would fix a number of the issues the team has faced this year.
