New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has reportedly pled not guilty in the battery case filed against him in Nevada.
A grand jury indicted the running back alongside former Bengals CB Chris Lammons and two others. The four were accused of allegedly beating a victim at a Las Vegas nightclub last year.
The incident reportedly occurred outside Drai’s Nightclub on the Vegas strip.
Each of the four people involved is currently facing charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, according to court documents.
Kamara was arrested just over a year ago on Feb. 6, 2022, right after suiting up in the Pro Bowl game at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Alvin Kamara battery case: Saints RB captured on tape talking about incident
Footage emerged of Alvin Kamara where he was heard talking about the incident in question. The Saints star is heard saying:
"I connected with the [expletive]'s jaw so hard."
The NFL, meanwhile, is yet to take any action against Kamara or Lammons.
Kamara is expected to soon face disciplinary action from the league since the NFL would likely have been waiting for charges to be officially filed against the running back.
When will Alvin Kamara's trial be held?
Alvin Kamara's trial will be held on July 31, 2023. This date, however, is still tentative, though it falls right around the time the Saints will look to begin their training camp for the season.
