Cam Ward has been in the limelight since the Tennessee Titans took him with the top pick in this year's NFL draft. The quarterback also made a strong impression in the minicamp just before the offseason break. On Thursday, the Titans shared some footage of Ward's accurate passing range from a training session on X.

On Saturday, former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert, who was teammates with Aaron Rodgers during their time with the Green Bay Packers, took note of Ward's passing and showered praise on the rookie.

"I don’t think you realize how different he is," Benkert posted when he shared the video.

Benkert also added a comment about Ward's potential and his ability to make plays without donning his full Titans uniform.

"Shorts and t shirt doesn’t matter, the arm angles and arm talent translate. It’s effortless and with a high level of accuracy.+ Aura off the charts," Benkert tweeted.

Benkert went undrafted in 2018. However, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a UDFA. The QB spent three seasons with the franchise and was waived in February 2021.

Benkert signed with the Packers in the 2021 offseason. He spent one year in Green Bay, where he was in the backup QB room while Rodgers was leading the team's offense.

In September 2022, Benkert signed for the San Francisco 49ers, but he was released less than two months later.

Benkert played one season in the then-XFL with the San Antonio Brahmas in 2023. He retired from football later in the year, in August.

Although the Titans have not yet named their QB1 for the 2025 season, all signs suggest Cam Ward will be leading the team's offense in his rookie year.

In April, the Titans said they wanted Ward to earn the starting role with his work in the offseason program. Since then, the QB has been arriving at the training facility at 5 A.M. on some days and even needed to be sent back home on a few occasions.

Ward signed a reported four-year, $48,839,618 rookie contract with the Titans in May. He will make $32,159,720 from his signing bonus and receive an annual salary of $12,209,905.
