Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker isn't a household name in the NFL. But after his exploits on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, he might just be now.
Facing a 1st-and-10 in the fourth quarter and needing a touchdown to take the lead, Walker dialed up the launch codes. From Carolina's own 35-yard line, Walker scrambled and launched a bomb to receiver DJ Moore right down the chimney.
Moore caught what could have been one of the best plays of the year. So much so that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes even took to Twitter, saying it was the best throw of the year.

You will be hard-pressed to find a better pass so far in 2022 as Walker's bomb tied the game, positioning Carolina to win it. Unfortunately, they missed the extra point that would have won them the game.
PJ Walker bomb not enough to lift Panthers past Falcons
For all of PJ Walker's late-game heroics, it wasn't enough to lift his team into first place in the NFC South. The Falcons managed to pull out a 37-34 overtime win to take sole possession of the division.
The Panthers quarterback did all he could on Sunday, completing 19 of his 36 passes for 317 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 20 yards on six carries.
Running back D'Onta Foreman was superb on the ground, rushing for 118 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries. Wide receiver DJ Moore was the pick of the skill-position players, catching six passes for 152 yards and a touchdown.
For the Falcons, they managed to pull off the win and move to 4-4 on the season. Marcus Mariota (19/27, 248 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs) did his part as he led his team to an important win.
Atlanta grabbed headlines after this overtime win, but a lot of people are still talking about PJ Walker's bomb to DJ Moore that took the game to overtime.
