Aaron Rodgers appears to be nearing a trade to the New York Jets as rumors continue to intensify.

The Jets received permission from the Green Bay Packers to speak with their superstar quarterback about a potential deal. They flew out to his home in California to discuss the situation, which reportedly went well and could result in a trade in the next few days.

If Aaron Rodgers is in fact traded to the AFC East, he will join a division that's loaded with competitive teams and talented quarterbacks.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen recently shared an interesting take on the possibility of Rodgers joining his division and what his potential gameplan will be.

Allen was asked about the situation by former NFL wide receiver and current host of the "I Am Athlete" podcast Brandon Marshall. His response was epic.

"Just gotta keep some ayahuasca on hand."

Aaron Rodgers infamously admitted to taking ayahuasca, a psychadelic and hallucinogenic drug, prior to the start of the 2020 NFL season. He claimed that it helped him get into the right mindset, which in turn resulted in a better version of himself as a quarterback.

While it's unclear whether or not ayahuasca had anything to do with it, his results on the football field following the experience were impressive. It started a streak of two consecutive seasons where he was named the NFL MVP and the helped the Packers win 13 regular-season games each year.

While Rodgers had a down year by his standards during the 2022 NFL season, he was still a solid quarterback. The Packers missed the playoffs by just one game. Josh Allen was clearly joking about his ayahuasca comments, but either way he will likely need to step up his game if Rodgers is traded to the Jets.

Aaron Rodgers could challenge Josh Allen for the AFC East division title

Josh Allen has helped the Buffalo Bills win the AFC East divisional title in each of the last three consecutive seasons. Ever since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Allen has taken over the division. Aaron Rodgers could potentially challenge his throne if he is in fact traded to the New York Jets prior to the start of the 2023 NFL season.

The Jets finished the 2022 NFL season with a mediocre 7-10 record. This was despite having some of the worst quarterbacks to play in the league and their offense ranking among the bottom ten teams.

Replacing Zach Wilson with Aaron Rodgers will give them a significant offensive boost to pair with their top-five ranked defense. They can legitimately challenge the Bills' streak next year and who knows, they could even make a run at the Super Bowl.
