Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton is set to meet with free agent JK Dobbins, who arrived in Denver on Wednesday. The running back also met with the team management on Thursday to see if he could fit in as part of the Broncos' offense next season.
While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Payton discussed Dobbins' ability and how the RB could impact the Broncos if he signs for the franchise.
“Another good football player that we’ve seen firsthand," Payton said. "I’ve seen for a while. The importance of that position group. We really like the group right now we’re working with, it’s just another opportunity to possibly bring in another good football player to help us win.”

The Broncos wanted to bolster their offensive backfield this offseason. They took former UCF running back RJ Harvey with the No. 60 pick in this year's NFL draft. Payton also wants to add another experienced RB to his team who can take some of the offensive load away from quarterback Bo Nix.
However, there is still no confirmation whether Dobbins will sign with the Broncos. It remains to be seen whether the RB can do enough to impress Payton and co. at the OTAs during his visit with the team.
JK Dobbins played the 2024 season with the LA Chargers

JK Dobbins played the 2024 season with the LA Chargers. He signed a one-year contract with them after spending four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.
During his lone season in LA, Dobbins recorded 905 yards and nine touchdowns on 195 carries. He also posted 153 yards on 32 receptions across 13 regular-season matchups. The RB missed four games due to a sprained knee.
Although Dobbins has had his injury concerns ever since he entered the league, he has shown glimpses of brilliance. It will be interesting to see whether he impresses Payton and co. enough to potentially sign for the Broncos this offseason.
