Rashee Rice had a troubling offseason; however, he is yet to be reprimanded by the league or the Kansas City Chiefs. But the latest move of the champions has fans suspecting their wide receiver bench is being given depth in place of an upcoming suspension.
In March, the Chiefs wide receiver was accused of a high-speed, multi-car crash in Dallas. Rice has a criminal and a civil case filed against him due to this and is facing eight felony charges. The NFL is yet to announce its disciplinary action against him.
The Chiefs have signed their former WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, per reports. JuJu was released by the New England Patriots earlier this year. He played for a year with the Chiefs before and was the Super Bowl hero against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.

“The Chiefs are signing WR JuJu Smith-Schuster. A reunion with Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes,” reporter Ari Meirov shared on Monday via X.

The Chiefs already have a stacked WR bench, so this move made fans wonder about Rice and the impending suspension.
“Perhaps an indication they know a lengthy suspension is coming for Rice,” a fan tweeted.
“I’m not mad only can mean two things.. Rice might be suspended or we cutting one of young WR,” another fan tweeted.
“Suspension announcement incoming?” One fan tweeted.
Apart from Rice’s upcoming suspension, Chiefs fans also theorized that newly signed Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown might be seriously injured.
“Depth, Hollywood’s injury, Rashee’s suspension, any number of reasons,” one fan tweeted.
“Hollywood injury must be serious,” a fan tweeted on X.
“How long is Hollywood gonna be out,” another fan tweeted.
Rashee Rice endorses the signing of JuJu Smith-Schuster
While the future of Rashee Rice for this season remains unclear, the WR announced the latest signing on Instagram. Rice posted a story, informing his fans about the Chiefs’ new addition to the WR room.

However, Rice did not add any caption on his thoughts about the signing. The Chiefs start their season against the Baltimore Ravens on Sep. 5, and things will be far clearer on the Chiefs’ WR depth status.
