Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson legally changed his name to Chosen Anderson on Wednesday, making it his third legal name - he was also known as Robby Anderson prior to February 2022, changed from Robby to Robbie back then, and has now switched to Chosen.

The receiver has played for three different teams in the league with different levels of success. He spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent and was a productive number-two receiver.

He then moved to the Carolina Panthers in free agency and had his one-and-only 1,000-yard receiving season in 2020, but his level fell off a cliff in 2021 amidst a turnover at the quarterback position. Things did not improve in 2022 after he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.

After two years of subpar performances, NFL fans were quick to troll him after his latest name switch became public:

The Cardinals need Robbie 'Chosen' Anderson to perform in 2023

Arizona definitely needs him to outperform his previous season, whatever name he wants to have. With DeAndre Hopkins gone and with the team switching to a more traditional offense, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals will need Anderson to return to his best form.

He has had four straight seasons with at least 700 receiving yards. It was painful to see the amount of impact he had in six games against Arizona: just two receptions for a mere ten yards. The Cardinals sent him two late-round draft picks for him - they definitely wanted a bigger return for that.

He's still 29 and, while he has suffered with porous quarterback play in both 2022 and 2021, he needs to improve individually. There will be many opportunities for him as he ascends to a starter role in Arizona - it's up to him to return to his level.
