D.J. Moore trade rumors: Ravens, Giants, Packers tipped to make a run at Panthers WR

Wide receiver D.J. Moore is among the star players who are fielding trade requests following the Carolina Panthers' unimpressive 1-5 start to their season. The Panthers also recently let go of their head coach and defensive coordinator.

Carolina revealed on Thursday that it had traded Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers and that it had also "had multiple trade calls" from clubs keen on Moore, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

D.J. Moore's situation requires him to depend on the Carolina QB for all of his production. Despite being a good player, Moore has only 17 receptions for 197 yards and one TD. He just signed a contract extension through the 2025 season for three years and $61.8 million.

A young receiver with a three-year contract ought to be a sought-after asset by many franchises that are in the running to win the Super Bowl.

The Baltimore Ravens are one of the teams interested in Moore.

Prior to Week 7, the Ravens were 3-3, but they might have been 6-0. They lost three matches in 2022, despite having a 10-point advantage in the second half.

On draft night, Baltimore gave away Marquise Brown, making Devin Duvernay and Rashod Bateman the group's main receivers. Duvernay has been unreliable, and Bateman has struggled to remain fit. The squad needs a top-tier receiver to solidify their overall potency and propel Lamar Jackson to his second MVP title.

The New York Giants are also interested in Moore. With their explosive start to the season, the New York Giants have stunned the NFL world. Saquon Barkley is the main reason for their encouraging performances.

Nevertheless, the Giants must have a threat at the receiving position if they are to advance to the playoffs. Thus far, Kenny Golladay has been a letdown, so D.J. Moore could improve the Giants offense.

Meanwhile, Brian Gutekunst, the Packers' general manager, may also be in the mix.

But with three straight seasons of 1,000+ yards in Carolina and a recent three-year deal, D.J. Moore may make any trade challenging to pull off.

Green Bay might swap D.J. Moore for Amari Rodgers and Carolina's first-round selection in 2023. With the acquisition of another receiver, Rodgers would likely be removed, as he is not working out. Simply put, this is the Packers' method of including him in the deal in case the struggling Panthers decide to give it a shot.
