Aaron Rodgers has joined the Pittsburgh Steelers after months of speculation, and it is now expected that he will start at center for the AFC North team in 2025.

Rodgers' move in his 40s has been compared by some fans and pundits to Tom Brady's move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady was signed by the Bucs in 2020, and by the end of the 2021 campaign, he had helped the team to a Super Bowl victory.

The Steelers will be hoping Rodgers has the same impact in Pittsburgh as they haven't won a Super Bowl since 2008.

Danny Parkins, who appeared on Friday's edition of the "First Things First" show with Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes, expressed his thoughts on Rodgers' decision.

In response to a question about his expectations for Rodgers, Parkins said (Timestamp: 0:25),

"I expect Aaron Rodgers to give the Steelers the best quarterback play they have gotten in years, and it will not make a difference.
"Because he's not better than Joe Burrow. He's not better than Lamar Jackson. The AFC is loaded. He's 41, going to 42 years old. He was overall okay last year. He played 17 games, which is impressive for a guy in his 40s, but the only guy who has had big success in terms of winning as a 40-year-old is Tom Brady."

The Steelers haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season. With a receiver room that now features standout wide receiver DK Metcalf and tight end Pat Freiermuth, they will be hoping that Rodgers will lead them to a deep playoff run in 2025.

How many Super Bowls has Aaron Rodgers played in?

Aaron Rodgers has established a Hall of Fame career in his 20 years in the NFL. He is one of only two players in league history to earn four or more NFL MVP awards.

The star quarterback has won one Super Bowl title, earning the MVP award during the Green Bay Packers' 31-26 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV in 2010. That remains Rodgers’ only Super Bowl victory and Super Bowl appearance in his career.

The New York Jets signed Rodgers ahead of the 2023 season in an attempt to break the team's postseason drought, but he was unable to help the team end that unwanted run. His first season was marred by a ruptured Achilles, and in 2024, he only managed five victories.

Rodgers did show improvement in the last stretch of last season, and the Steelers will be hoping he can get back to the level he was for most of his tenure with the Packers.
