David Bakhtiari can't believe what Aaron Rodgers said about Eagles' O-line - "Ayo WTF"

Aaron Rodgers' ubiquity on screen can even throw his close friends like David Bakhtiari off. Over the past couple of seasons, the Green Bay Packers quarterback has been courting controversy over various matters. The four-time NFL MVP has never been shy about sharing his opinion.

While that may not have rubbed his teammate David Bakhtiari the wrong way before, his latest comments certainly have. With the Super Bowl coming up between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, much of the NFL world's focus has been on that. And Aaron Rodgers has weighed in by saying that the Eagles offensive line may be one of the best in the last twenty years.

They have definitely been a solid unit. They were ranked top of the pile by many evaluators going into the season and have certainly not relinquished that position during the season. But as David Bakthiari has lined up on the Green Bay Packers' offensive line to protect Aaron Rodgers over all these years, he certainly would not have expected his close friend to pick anyone over their own team.

He responded to the quarterback's assertion with incredulity, simply saying,

"Ayo WTF?"

He referred to the 2014 season when the Green Bay Packers had arguably the best offensive line in living memory, of which David Bakhtiari was a part.

Is David Bakhtiari right to say Aaron Rodgers is wrong over his assertions?

David Bakhtiari is not wrong to say that the offensive line was great for the Packers in 2014. Along with him, they had players like Josh Sitton, Corey Linsley, T.J. Lang, and Bryan Bulaga, who he tagged in his post as well. The Eagles have Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jason Kelce, Isaac Seumalo and Lane Johnson.

In 2014, the Packers' offensive line allowed just 28 sacks in 16 games. This season, considering only Jalen Hurts as the starter, the Eagles offensive line allowed 38 sacks in just 15 games. This comes with the added caveat that Jalen Hurts is much more mobile than Aaron Rodgers ever was.

In the run game, we look at the yards per carry. In 2014, the Green Bay Packers created 4.4 yards per carry, whereas the Eagles shaded it this season with 4.6 yards per carry.

So, in total, the Eagles are better at run protection but not as much at passer-protection as the 2014 Packers. Considering such a toss-up, it would have been better if Aaron Rodgers had chosen the team he played for.
