Boxing superstar Devin Haney and Philadelphia Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson are embroiled in a feud. The two-weight world champion threatened to knock out Gardner-Johnson in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Devin Haney's threat came after Gardner-Johnson wrote:

"U think this cool, just schedule it !!! We waiting for u to get knocked out !!!"

Haney responded:

"& then I knock u out.."

Why did Devin Haney threaten to knock out C.J. Gardner-Johnson?

A few clips surfaced of Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis sparring at Floyd Mayweather's gym. The clips are from years ago, and you can see both fighters getting heated at various points of the session.

In one of the clips, Haney was seen sneaking up on Davis, which evoked criticism on social media. Haney then proceeded to defend himself from allegations of being a dirty fighter.

However, C.J. Gardner-Johnson wasn't having any of it. The Philadelphia Eagles star said that Haney should set up an official bout against Davis and get knocked out. The former undefeated boxer didn't take kindly to his words and promised to knock him out after the hypothetical bout with Davis.

What to expect from C.J. Gardner-Johnson and the Eagles in 2024?

C. J. Gardner-Johnson returns to Philadelphia after a year with the Detroit Lions. The 2022 NFL Interceptions co-leader had an injury-riddled season with the Lions and will be looking to get his groove back with Nick Sirianni's side.

The Eagles' goal this season is to make a deep postseason run. They'll be looking to perform much better than they did in 2023 when they were dumped out of the playoffs in the wildcard round.

The Eagles will have to do it without franchise legends Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, who retired in the offseason. The franchise will also need to fix a leaky defense that turned out to be its kryptonite in the lead-up to last year's playoffs.

The addition of Gardner-Johnson should help in that regard. The team also added a few free agents and high-potential draft picks to help it make a deep run in the playoffs and potentially win a Super Bowl.
