On Thursday, Social media users' responses to Aaron Rodgers agreeing to a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers have been mixed. Will Pittsburgh have a deep postseason run with the four-time MVP under center?
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, who led the NFL in receiving touchdowns in 2014, believes that Rodgers will excel in 2025. He declared on X that the former Green Bay Packers star "is going to ball in Pittsburgh.” Whether Bryant is right or wrong, fans will likely have a clue in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Rodgers' sharpness at minicamp will be public, and this might be the first indication of whether or not he has been secretly training for next season. The Steelers are set to conclude their minicamp week, and the players will get a break until July 23, when they are scheduled to return to training camp.

After a disappointing run to end the 2024 season, Pittsburgh will need a boost from Rodgers' performances to start the 2025 campaign. It lost its last five games last year, including a crushing defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round.
The Steelers last won in the postseason in the 2016 divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs. They will bank on Rodgers, who turns 42 in December, to end the drought.
Aaron Rodgers will get a chance for revenge in the first week of the season
The Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to MetLife Stadium to face the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers' former team, in Week 1.
The quarterback had a lackluster two-year tenure with the Jets. He ruptured his Achilles during their Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills in 2023 before returning last season. When he was healthy in 2024, Rodgers was unable to help New York end its playoff drought, and the team finished with a 5-12 record.
The Jets released Rodgers after hiring Darren Mougey as general manager, and Aaron Glenn as coach this offseason. Rodgers has since expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the team dismissed him.
Rodgers will have the opportunity to exact revenge on the Jets when the season starts. Justin Fields, who also joined New York this offseason, will face the Steelers for the first time since leaving them in March.
