Running back De'Von Achane is gearing up for his third stint with the Miami Dolphins after he was acquired in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft. So far in two seasons, Achane has put up a total of 1,707 yards and 14 rushing TDs.

As he continues his offseason preparation, Dolphins insider Omar Kelly had some high praise for Achane. In an article he published last Friday, Kelly considers Achane the fastest man on the Dolphins roster.

"This is my second straight offseason Achan has gotten this honor, and it's not surprising considering he's faster without pads than anyone else on the roster," Kelly said via MiamiHerald.com. "His ability to catch passes and get upfield is eye-opening... The biggest concern about Achane is his durability, and whether the 5-9, 188-pounder can covert in short-yardage situations."

Despite Omar Kelly dubbing Achane as the fastest Dolphins player, wide receiver Tyreek Hill can make a strong case for himself. During a trial 100-meter race on June 13, Hill broke his own personal best record.

Back in 2012, Hill ran the 100m race in 10.12 seconds. However, on Saturday, he broke this time and set up a new personal best of 10.15. This makes the Dolphins' WR one of the fastest players in the league.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels has high expectations of De'Von Achane

Last season, the Miami Dolphins finished with a disappointing 8-9 record. They failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time under Mike McDaniel's reign.

Despite this, De'Von Achane had a good season on a personal level. He recorded 907 yards and six rushing TDs, along with 592 yards and six receiving TDs.

In May, McDaniels talked about his expectations for Achane next season (via SI.com):

"I see a guy that understands a broader picture of not only how to be successful independently, but your independent success is helped by collective success.
"The first thing that pretty much any skill player has to answer to if they maybe drop something or get gloved when running a route, first person they're going to answer to is De'Von Achane because he's going to be a quick trigger.

"I think that competitiveness that he has naturally to him and what I'm seeing day in, day out, through the five weeks that we've been together for this offseason program is a guy who wants to take his game to the next level...," he added.

The Dolphins begin their 2025 campaign with a season opener against the Indianapolis Colts in September. Achane will likely be taking up more responsibilities as a running back since the team lost veterans Jeff Wilson Jr. and Raheem Mostert this offseason.
