Matthew Judon just got his wish fulfilled after holding in and holding out during the Patriots training session for the past month. The 32-year-old linebacker has found a new home at the Falcons. However, NFL fans are distraught over Judon’s deal with his new team.

Judon had only one year remaining on his deal with the New England Patriots. The LB wanted an extension, but they couldn’t agree. After requesting a trade, Judon officially signed with the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday.

However, one detail has emerged from this trade: Matthew Judon will be paid $6.5 million by the Falcons. This is the same amount of money the pass rusher would’ve received with the Patriots as well.

“New Falcons pass rusher Matt Judon will come to Atlanta without a new contract in hand, sources say, and there's not an expectation one is imminent. He's set to play for the Falcons on his current deal that's paying $6.5 million,” Jones said.

This report sent the NFL fans over the edge, and several claimed this would turn out to be a bad deal for Atlanta.

“What's to stop him from just holding out there while he was here? Nothing... dumb move from the Falcons.”

“Wow just wow. Falcons going to falcon lol,” a fan wrote.

Some fans pointed out the similarity of this deal with Haason Reddick’s at the New York Jets. This deal went awry this offseason.

“What in the New York Jets is this?”, wrote one fan.
“I feel like we’ve seen this before”, wrote another fan.

Many pointed out that since Matthew Judon will make the same amount of money he did with the Patriots, suggests that he wanted out of New England.

“That Man Just wanted out Of New England so bad”, wrote one fan.
“So, dude was being a diva with NE but is okay with the 6.5 that the Falcons will be paying him”, wrote another fan.

Matthew Judon has trust in the Falcons' leadership, per Insider

After essentially continuing the contract that he signed with the Patriots at the Falcons, Judon is on the books for only one year. However, CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones thinks this represents a high level of trust between both parties.

“Doing this indicates a great deal of trust among all involved parties. A trade with no extension requires heavy and clear communication, and I'm told that's what took place. Happy 32nd birthday, Matt Judon. You're a Falcon,” Jones tweeted.

Matthew Judon will be an important building block for the Falcons defensive unit.
