Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has a new head coach to work with after the franchise announced Jonathan Gannon will replace Kliff Kingsbury. Gannon served as the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, during which he achieved great success.

Although the Cardinals are bringing in a new head coach to change the franchise’s culture, former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz isn't convinced. He believes this new pairing of Gannon-Murray will not last much longer.

Here's what Schwartz said on "First Things First" about the Kyler Murray and Jonathan Gannon pairing:

"People turned down this job, Brian Flores wants a coaching job and said nah, I'm gonna pass and be the defensive coordinator for the Vikings and they hired a defensive coach as well."

Schwartz continued:

"The vibes are off right now, man, he's not playing till November right now. They're gonna trade his best player away. I don't know if he ends up ever playing for Gannon. New general manager new, head coach they always want to do with their own quarterback."

Many have described Murray as difficult to work with. The franchise fired Kliff Kingsbury partly because their quarterback and head coach were not on the same page.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract last offseason. The franchise must maximize his talents, or else things could get messy. It would be intriguing to see how Jonathan Gannon manages this franchise, as there are numerous obvious flaws.

Kyler Murray is expected to miss the majority of next season

Kyler Murray suffered an ACL injury against the New England Patriots in Week 14 and is expected to miss several weeks of the upcoming season as well due to the injury.

Murray had a passer rating of 87.2 for 2,368 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions in 11 games last season. The Cardinals finished last season with an abysmal record of 4-13 and currently have the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Gannon's first season as Cardinals head coach will be challenging as he will be without his franchise quarterback for the first half of the season. Furthermore, if the team trades De'Andre Hopkins, things will become even more complicated.
