“Mutiny is afoot” – Russell Wilson’s ex-teammate rips Broncos QB, claims he’s making the same locker room mistakes he made in Seattle

The Denver Broncos, led by quarterback Russell Wilson, find themselves standing in front of a brick wall as they are 2-4 through the first six games of the season. Denver acquired Wilson in the offseason with expectations that he would make them a Super Bowl contender. However, after six games, they look far from it.

Michael Robinson played with Wilson at Seattle as a fullback. He recently spoke about Wilson not being a vocal leader. He also pointed out that when things go wrong, Wilson has just a few words of encouragement but doesn't call anyone out.

Here's what Robinson said on NFL Total Access:

"This football 101. My 13-year-old son understands how to redirect an offensive line, and Russell understands how to do that too... How can you stand up there and you know the offensive looks like this, you know all these questions around here, about you and about this offense, and you just say, 'oh we need to execute better, let's ride.'"

He continued:

"If you're a teammate and in that locker room, you're like 'dude, be human, please. Call somebody out, be upset about something.' Don't just act like this is just business as usual because at the end of the day, I think this is on the horizon with this team and I don't know, I hope it's not, but mutiny is afoot."

He concluded by saying:

"The guys in that locker room are gonna start to turn around and say 'whoa okay Russell got paid, he got his money, new head coach he's all happy, he's all good, but what about us? What about the guys in the locker room?'"

Robinson is just the most recent former teammate to publicly criticize Wilson. If anything, he's late to the game.

Following Denver's Monday Night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Golden Tate called out Russell Wilson. He noted that kicker Brandon McManus has scored half the team's points thus far. Richard Sherman has bashed Wilson multiple times on the record and even went on a halftime rant during their game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Marshawn Lynch commented that in order to contact Wilson, they had to contact his manager first, which he felt was corny. It's a little shocking to see so much criticism towards Russell Wilson, as he is one of the most popular figures in the NFL.

With the Broncos welcoming the New York Jets to Colorado this week, they will have to put in a performance to silence their critics. Winning trumps everything in the NFL, and this is the only way Russell Wilson can change the narrative surrounding the franchise. We will see how he gets on in Week 7.
