The San Francisco 49ers have lost another player to injury. Just days after placing Christian McCaffrey on IR with a leg injury, coach Kyle Shanahan announced wide receiver Deebo Samuel would miss two weeks due to a calf strain suffered in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings.
Fantasy football managers were shocked and dismayed at the development.
"How is everyone getting hurt," a fan asked.

More of it can be seen below:
"49ers just keep taking these lowblows," one lamented.
"What’s with all the strained calfs!????" one asked.
"Here comes the losing. Totally different team without him," another predicted.
Deebo Samuel among growing list of casualties ahead of 49ers-Rams Week 3 matchup
The 49ers are not the only banged up team in the NFC West.
Their Week 3 opponents, the Los Angeles Rams, must be reliving their 2022 Super Bowl hangover again, given their 0-2 record and spate of injuries that so far has involve these players:
- WR Cooper Kupp (ankle)
- WR Puka Nacua (knee)
- OT Joe Noteboom (ankle)
- OG Jonah Jackson (shoulder)
- C Steve Avila (knee)
- CB Darious Williams (hamstring)
- S John Johnson (shoulder)
However, according to coach Sean McVay, none of the injuries are season-ending.
49ers will now get a glimpse of Brandon Aiyuk's WR1 potential after Deebo Samuel's injury
One man's loss is another man's gain, they say. In this case, Brandon Aiyuk stands to benefit the most from this circumstance involving Samuel.
Considered a sidekick to the versatile one-time Pro Bower early in his career, Aiyuk proved his worth in 2023 by leading the team in receiving yards (1,342). After a long "hold-in" that lasted into the preseason, he signed a four-year, $120-million extension.
Now is his best chance to prove that he is worth that contract, according to A to Z Sports' Nicholas McGee:
"Aiyuk theoretically has a great opportunity to experience a return to form in Week 3. ... Down two crucial playmakers, it is imperative Aiyuk takes that chance and reminds everyone why he was Purdy's favorite target last season."
The 49ers vs Rams game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET/1:25 p.m. PT on Fox.
