Shedeur Sanders had his first minicamp as a professional football player on Tuesday, taking reps with the Cleveland Browns. He also spoke to the media about many topics, but one of the questions drew fans' ire.
When Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot asked the rookie quarterback about his father Deion, who has missed his alma mater Colorado's practice sessions because of illness, Shedeur did his best to sidestep the question:

Meanwhile, there was much outcry about what the reporter did, with one tweeting:

"Fire that reporter"
"Cabot is the worst," one retched.
"That lady is beyond annoying! It’s not your business," another reprimanded.
Some also complimented Sanders for handling the situation maturely:
"Like I keep saying, Deon taught his sons well," one reminisced.
"Good man," another approved.
"That boy is sharp. Learned Mary kays antics in just a month," another said.
During the media session, Shedeur Sanders said to be managing minicamp "very well":
"I would say it's just a mindset, this adjustment. You got to go and understand the situation that you're in and be able to approach that and get the best out of it. You could view things as you're not getting reps in a negative way, or you could view it as, 'OK, when is my time to get out there? Let's be proactive and let's get going.'"
Shedeur Sanders among rookies with the most to prove at minicamp
Last week, Jason McIntyre said on FS1's The Herd about Shedeur Sanders' prospects of becoming the Browns' starter (from 01:08):
"Despite all the hype for Shedeur, he’s the only quarterback on the Browns who wasn’t playing with the (first team). ... He’s fourth on the depth chart, decidedly."
Those comments, apart from the purported stigma of falling to the fifth round after multiple Day 1 considerations, surely must become motivation for him to prove himself worth more than his draft position. CBS' Josh Edwards wrote:
"Will he become just another name on the vaunted quarterback jersey that features those who started before him or will he provide the type of staying power that will encourage the franchise to use its two first-round picks on other positions next April?"
Browns OTAs will resume on June 16 and will last three days.
