Kyler Murray ended last season with an ACL injury and will be looking to get back on the field soon. To that end, he has been focused on his recovery and recently posted a video of him working out. He is just 13 weeks removed from his surgery and was seen doing squats, which is very impressive. Kyler Murray was famously asked to do more film study as part of his contract last year, before it was removed after receiving public backlash. Given his penchant for video games, fans have always suspected that he was more interested in that than analyzing football. They let their feelings be known in no uncertain terms, enquiring whether he was indeed getting ready to return to football. But the Arizona quarterback has been in the eye of the storm again for all the wrong reasons. He had teammates like Kelvin Beachum come out and say that he needs to lead better. When colleagues can openly name-check you like that, it is never a good sign. Former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim then weighed in on the situation by saying the quarterback needs to grow. If it was a disaffected executive who had been fired, this could have been explained away. But Keim was the one who drafted Kyler Murray first overall and then gave him a contract extension. That said, it seems that the latest video has put at least some people at ease. Some came to Murray's defense, saying that it showed he was ready to lead and play football.Connor O'Bryan@ConnorOBryan3@ESPNNFL @espn @K1 @joshweinfuss Maybe we can finally put an end to the “Kyler doesn’t take football seriously” narrative1@ESPNNFL @espn @K1 @joshweinfuss Maybe we can finally put an end to the “Kyler doesn’t take football seriously” narrativeIn all of this, it is often forgotten that Kyler Murray led them to a playoff berth just one season earlier. Last season, when they did not make the playoffs, among many other factors, losing their quarterback midseason was a crucial one too. He will be looking to return and shut down all the naysayers. His latest video seems to show how seriously he is taking it and how he looks to have a chip on his shoulder. Whether he can carry that intensity into the rest of the season will determine if Kyler Murray can change the existing narrative around him.
