Patrick Mahomes stole the heart out of the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football, collecting a massive win along the way.

After Justin Herbert gave the Chargers the lead with under two minutes to go, Mahomes and the Chiefs went to work.

The Super Bowl champ and former MVP marched his team down the field and found his reliable target Travis Kelce for the go-ahead touchdown with 30 seconds remaining.

The Chiefs eventually held on to win 30-27.

Herbert got the ball back, but threw an interception to end the game.

Mahomes' game-winning drive sent Chiefs fans into a rapture, with many now believing that the MVP race is already over.

One fan even went as far as to say that the Chiefs star is the best quarterback on the planet.

The win sees Mahomes extend his incredible streak of avoiding a loss in road divisional games in his career. He's 14-0 after the win over the Chargers.

Other NFL fans went crazy after his performance, with many believing he is the best quarterback in the league.

It appears most fans are in agreement that Mahomes is the best player in the NFL right now.

While it is a little early for the MVP call, there is no doubt that he is or should be leading the race at the moment.

The Chargers thought they had it won until they didn't.

Patrick Mahomes haunted them yet again, stealing a victory from under their noses.

Justin Herbert did his best but left too much time on the clock, and the Chiefs #15 went to work.

Mahomes completed 20 of his 34 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns with his last being the game-winner to Travis Kelce (6 rec, 115 yards, 3 TDs).

Rookie running back Isiah Pacheco was a star on the ground, rushing for 107 yards on 15 carries.

For the Chargers, Herbert was superb until his late interception.

He finished with 280 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The Chargers star only had seven incompletions for the game but still ended up with a loss.

Running back Austin Ekeler (19 carries, 83 yards, 1 TD) and receiver Josh Palmer (8 rec, 106 yards, 2 TDs) were the Chargers' best performers on the night.

On his return from a hamstring injury, Keenan Allen finished with five catches for 94 yards.

The loss sees the Chargers drop to 5-5 while the Chiefs maintain a stranglehold on what many thought was the best division in football with an 8-2 record.
