Aaron Rodgers had his first official day with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday. The quarterback reported to the mandatory minicamp and, while his participation was still limited, it provided a first glance for fans and analysts on his stint with the Steelers for the 2025 season.

Rodgers' timing to sign was no coincidence. The quarterback has always made known how much he does not appreciate participating in OTAs; however, had he signed after the mandatory minicamp, he would not have any time to build on-field rapport with his teammates until training camp starts in late July.

With the first images of the veteran quarterback appearing in Steelers gear, NFL fans voiced their opinions on Rodgers and his new team on X/Twitter:

The Steelers' mandatory minicamp will run until Thursday. Star edge defender T.J. Watt was not in attendance at practice as he seeks a new long-term deal with the franchise. Watt's current deal is set to expire after the 2025 season.

How much is Aaron Rodgers earning from Pittsburgh Steelers?

The quarterback signed a one-year deal worth $13.65 million that can be increased to $19.5 million with incentives. At 41, there's no reason for the two sides to engage in a long-term deal, especially as he comes from two disappointing years with the New York Jets.

Former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum recently said on ESPN's "First Take" that if he was part of the Steelers, he would not sign Rodgers:

"This is a guy that's disinterested in being an NFL quarterback, which is fine. He's earned that right. He's made hundreds of millions of dollars. It's over. We are drafting our next quarterback.”

Although the Steelers drafted a quarterback in the 2025 draft, Will Howard was selected as a late-round pick and is expected to compete for the backup quarterback spot. He was a national champion with Ohio State in the 2024 college football season.
