Could a Lamar Jackson trade happen sooner rather than later? The former 2019 NFL MVP announced on Twitter on Monday that he had requested a trade from the Baltimore Ravens on March 2. The news comes after his contract talks have stalled after the team placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on him before the start of free agency.

Jackson announced the news as Ravens coach John Harbaugh was addressing the media at the league owners' meetings.

"I haven't seen the Tweet," Harbaugh said. "It's an ongoing process. I'm following it very closely just like everyone else here is and looking forward to a resolution. I'm excited, thinking about Lamar all the time, thinking about him as our quarterback, building our offense around that idea and looking forward to getting back to football and Im confident that's gonna happen.
“I’m getting ready for Lamar. … When Lamar gets back on this train, it’s moving full speed. ... We love him.”

NFL fans react to John Harbaugh's statement regarding Lamar Jackson

Ravens fans were livid about Harbaugh's response. Many think that the team should just pay Jackson and that they're doing him wrong by not giving him a contract of his liking.

Here's how Ravens fans responded to Harbaugh's comments:

Can Lamar Jackson be a franchise quarterback for another team?

Lamar Jackson certainly has the capability to still be a franchise quarterback.

He won the unanimous MVP in 2017 as he set the record for most rushing yards in a single-season for a quarterback with 1,206 yards while leading the league in passing touchdowns with 36.

He's led the Baltimore Ravens to four playoff appearances and has picked up a road playoff victory.

In his five seasons in the NFL, he's thrown for 12,209 yards and 101 touchdowns and rushed for 4,437 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Jackson would be a better option than more than half of the league's starting quarterbacks.
