Jeanty was selected sixth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Raiders and will be the team's starting running back. As Jeanty began his first NFL minicamp, he jokingly claimed he would like to slap White.

“Matter of fact imma go with Devin White, bro he be talking so much trash bro," Jeanty said to Maxx Crosby. "I remember after one bro, I was open, if Geno put the ball on me, I'm catching and turning up the field, he said he locked me up. Alright, bro. So if it’s anyone it’s him bro, I’m slapping the hell outta him."

It's a funny comment from Jeanty, who says it's all love with White, but he says the trash-talking is just a way to get more competitive in the summer.

Jeanty also believes he has gotten the better of White in minicamp and in the offseason, as he claimed the linebacker can't lock him up as he wanted.

White was selected fifth overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed with Las Vegas this past offseason.

Raiders coach impressed with Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty was a Heisman finalist last season and is expected to be a key part of the Las Vegas Raiders' offense this season.

Jeanty will enter the season as the starter, and Raiders coach Pete Carroll has been impressed with what he has seen so far.

“He’s doing great. He really is. He’s right on point with everything that we’re doing,” Carroll said, via NBC Sports. “He’s studying really hard. He’s been really diligent about all aspects. There’s nothing that he doesn’t find important. He’s going to work hard on his pass protection, the third down type of work, see if he can contribute in that kind of a role as well.

“So, we’re not holding anything back on him. He’s getting a lot of plays. I think he had the most plays for a running back yet on Monday. I don’t know what the number was today, but it’s there. So, he’s getting a lot of turns.”

Jeanty joined a Raiders running back room that features Zamir White, Raheem Mostert, Sincere McCormick, Dylan Laube, and Chris Collier.

Las Vegas will open its 2025 NFL season on Sept. 7 against the New England Patriots.
