Cooper Kupp fantasy outlook: Is the Rams WR playing in Week 11?

Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Rams
Rams star Cooper Kupp waves to fans

In Week 11, the Los Angeles Rams will play the New Orleans Saints without their top wide receiver, Cooper Kupp.

Last weekend, Kupp suffered an ankle injury that is now thought to be a high ankle sprain. The star wideout will be placed on injured reserve and out for a minimum of four games since it will require surgery.

There are doubts over whether Kupp will appear again this season, given that the Los Angeles Rams are no longer competing in their division.

He has hurt his ankle twice in the last three weeks. The wide receiver missed the Rams' Week 8 game against the San Francisco 49ers because of an ankle injury, but was able to participate in their next game.

Cooper Kupp has been an exceptional wide receiver who has richly rewarded owners who chose him earlier. In contrast, most of his Los Angeles Rams colleagues have underwhelmed in their Super Bowl defense campaign.

Kupp is, without a doubt, the Rams' top wideout. In the nine games this season, he has 75 catches on 98 targets for 812 yards and six touchdowns.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford will now have to rely on the remaining wideouts of Ben Skowronek, Allen Robinson, Van Jefferson, and Brandon Powell. This presents a challenge for fantasy players.

Cooper Kupp's stats and fantasy prediction

Cooper Kupp is among the most well-known fantasy players in the league. He has amassed 864 total yards and seven touchdowns so far in his stellar 2022 season.

Kupp will be sidelined at least through Week 15, after which he might play against the Green Bay Packers for the Los Angeles Rams. But if the Rams' run keeps going the way it is, they might conclude it's not worthwhile to rush him back.

Kupp had the third-longest run in NFL history with 21 straight games in which he scored at least 15 PPR fantasy points. Additionally, as of Week 10, Cooper was responsible for 35.7% of the Rams' receptions, the highest tally in the NFL this season.

Only Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, and Justin Jefferson have accrued more PPR scores than Cooper Kupp so far this season.

Before Week 11's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, the Rams' top three wide receivers will be Allen Robinson, Ben Skowronek, and Van Jefferson. Skowronek and Jefferson have flex potential, and Robinson could operate as a WR2.

Skowronek is the Rams' top performer with 60 snaps, 40 route runs, and six targets. Likewise, Van Jefferson, who made a comeback two weeks ago, received his first three passes of the year, one of which resulted in a score.

By the time Kupp becomes capable of returning in Week 15, the fantasy football playoffs will be just around the corner. So, don't cut him and keep him on your bench in the hope that he misses just four games.
